The official list for which players will be either protected or unprotected has been released and everyone is on the edges of their seats. Some of the unprotected players left a bad taste in some people’s mouths, thinking that certain players should have been protected over others.
Only one unprotected player from each team will be chosen, but that won’t stop fans from speculating which it would be. The New York Rangers are one example of a team that will definitely have give up a valuable player in this expansion. Below are the players that I think The Golden Knights will go for.
Antti Raanta (G)
In the 2016-2017 season, Raanta played 30 games which had 16 wins and losses. He faced 782 shots and had 721 saves along with 2.26 goals against him on average. His save percentage was .922%, up from the year before at .919%.
Oscar Lindberg (F)
In the 65 regular season games Lindberg played in, he scored 8 goals and had 12 assists. He ended the season with 20 points. During the playoffs he played in 3 games, ending up with 3 goals and 1 assist, with one goal being a game winner.
Jesper Fast (F)
Fast played in 68 games in the regular season, scoring 6 six goals and having 15 assists. He ended the season with 15 points. In the 2016-2017 playoffs, he played in 12 games, scored 3 goals and had 3 assists, gaining 6 points in the playoffs.
