With their loss to the Boston Bruins Saturday night, the Coyotes dropped to 0-4-1, their worst five game start in franchise history.

Arizona got out to a 1-0 lead in the first period on Mario Kempe‘s first NHL goal but the excitement was short lived, as David Pastrnak tied the game 1-1 a little over a minute later.

Things went downhill from there for the Coyotes. The Bruins started off the second period with a Jake DeBrusk power play goal and extended their lead with goals from Zdeno Chara and Brad Marchand.

Late in the third, Oliver Ekman-Larsson cut the Bruins lead in half with a power play goal but Tim Schaller answered 23 seconds later, making it 5-2 Boston. Anders Bjork then made it 6-2, scoring his first NHL goal.

In his postgame press conference, head coach Rick Tocchet stated his embarrassment and apologized to fans.

He then went on to say things need to get harder with this team.

The Coyotes will continue the search for their first win of the season tonight against the Dallas Stars.
