This week on Top Shelf Pours we have the Chicago Blackhawks! They ended this season with 76 points, which puts them in 25th place at the end of the 2017-18 season. Read on to see what our drink picks for the Blackhawks are!

One beer: Goose Island Goose IPA. Goose Island is one of my all-time favorite brands when it comes to beer. According to the website, this “is a hop lover’s dream with a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, and long hop finish.” This is definitely a beer for people who love IPA’s or maybe even want to step into the world. The reason I picked this for the Blackhawks is that it’s a fan favorite. A lot of people like this beer because it’s easy to drink and can go with a lot of different meals.

One mixed drink: Chicago Cocktail. While I’ve never had a Chicago Cocktail, I had to pick it for the Blackhawks. It consists of brandy, triple sec, some ice and a little bit of bitters. If you’re feeling fancy, you can even add some champagne, which is exactly why it’s the perfect drink for the Blackhawks. The Hawks have had some sweet seasons in the last few years and they got to celebrate with a lot of champagne when they won the cup.

One wine: Lynfred Winery Fred’s Red. For a team with red jerseys, we’re going to go with a red wine. This red is made up of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Petite Sirah. Personally, I think that’s a great combination of reds for almost anyone. If you’re a bit scared to try a red wine, this is probably a good place for you to start. Just like the Goose Island IPA, a mix of red’s is a fan favorite by far when it comes to red wines.

And that wraps up this edition of Top Shelf Pours! How did we do when it came to the Chicago Blackhawks? As always, let us know what you think by sounding to us @puckitupblog on Twitter!
