This week on Top Shelf Pours we have the New York Rangers! They ended this season with 77 points, which puts them in 24th place at the end of the 2017-18 season. Read on to see what our drink picks for the Rangers are!
One beer: Montauk Brewery Arrowhead Red Ale. Montauk Brewery is one of the best breweries Long Island has to offer, and one of my personal favorites, so I had to go with them for the Rangers since they’re my favorite team. This ale from Montauk has a very strong ale taste, a caramel finish, and very little bitterness. This is the perfect beer for Rangers fans going from the middle of the season to (hopefully) the playoffs!
One mixed drink: Manhattan. You’re lying if you didn’t see this coming from a mile away. A traditional Manhattan consists of whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters then topped off with a maraschino cherry in a cocktail glass; it’s important to note that if you drink it on the rocks, it’ll be served in a lowball glass! A Manhattan cocktail has a lot of tradition behind it and so do the Rangers, so it’s the perfect drink for them.
One wine: Wolffer Estate Vineyard Summer in a Bottle Rosé. If you’re from Long Island, you more than likely know about this wine. Like Summer in a Bottle, the Rangers can be a bit flashy. It has floral notes of wildflower, apple, and pear. As always, rosé pairs well with almost anything, so it’s the perfect wine for a hockey game – and if I’m being honest, it wouldn’t surprise me if this was available at MSG during the regular season.
And that wraps up this edition of Top Shelf Pours! How did we do when it came to the New York Rangers? As always, let us know what you think by sounding to us @puckitupblog on Twitter!
